To report on three things that have made one smile during the week. Such a small commitment, such a joyful one. I found this idea on the Daily Post and it appealed. It may not happen every week, I know what I am like:) I am linking back to Nerd in the Brain whose brain child this is.
This last week encompassed Christmas Day and the first day 2015, maybe I should mention them, I have been smiling most of the week - and one cannot blame alcohol as I am not allowed any:( However small events have made life very smiley and contented this week.
1) Sheer unadulterated idleness, the late morning risings, lying softly under cosy covers contemplating the day ahead with no sense of rush or time keeping. Bliss:)
2) Sitting in my new reclining chair, feet up, watching the cat watching me:) she also enjoys this new chair and spends more time on my lap. Well I say lap, she creeps slowly up over time, until she is ensconced on my chest watching me watching her. Then, very gently, reaches a hesitant paw toward my face - if she is feeling extra brave she touches me, softly, swiftly, then tucks said paw under her. I cannot see her smile but I know it’s there, as is mine as we contemplate each other:)
3) Today was mild after a cold snap of icy frost. The ground was soft from melted ice. I stood out in the garden early this morning and listened with such excited enjoyment to the explosion of sound and activity from the birds, as they took advantage of this opportunity to feed. Pitied the insects and worms but rejoiced for the birds. I left them to it and returned indoors with a smile:)
Happy New Year to you all.
